I purchased the Topo 2013 Pro last week, and it is working on my Nuvi 500. Only pre-requisite is that you now can only use BaseCamp.

While the license is tied to a specific GPS unit, how can I used the map on multiple computers without having to insert the micro sd card in a caddy in the computer, or having to connect my Nuvi 500 via a USB cable.

This was possible with Garmap Topo and Rec 2012.

Shaun the licence of maps purchased on SD card normally reside on the SD card and is not units specific. You should be able to use it on other capable units as well. To answer your question I don't think there is a way to copy it for use to a computer but I may stand corrected. Lets see if someone come up with a solution.

Please read all the posts.

In short if you copy the contents on the SD Card to a flash drive you can use the flash drive to instead of the SD Card or 500 when you want to use to maps on BaseCamp.

Thanks Jan, prior to posting my comment, I tried this, and it does not work. The name of the USB memory stick was changed to the same as that of the micro SD card and files placed in a folder called "garmin".
