Hi Steve, welcome back....this unit, has a hefty price tag coupled to it... (Garmin Overlander PART NUMBER 010-0219510.... R15 499,00 https://buy.garmin.com/en-ZA/ZA/p/685257) and I might be wrong but people will not likely be spending this kind of money on a Gps..With more and more navigational apps becoming available on smartphones, you may wonder whether it’s worth it to buy a dedicated GPS device for your vehicle. Apps such as Waze have made a name for themselves by providing up-to-the-minute traffic information from crowd-sourced data.

thanks Phillip, i can get one for R10k and thats not a bad price
we want to overland and if you go deepest darkest there are problems with cell signals...not sure about tying phones to satphone signals
i know places in Namibia that cell signals are non existent
