Hi Jan, to answer your question, yes, I had the unit connected in my Audi, and then back to my Toyota. I must also add, that one of these phenomenon's, i.e "serial accessory required" only appears when the unit is not connected to 12v power, and the other message, "10mins from destination" appears whilst driving, on view map without planning a route. The more I think about it, it must be the power/traffic receiver cable that causing this hick up.Yes I think I will have to visit Garmin. Thanks for your help.

There is a lot of electronics involved in the equation and the problem could be anywhere. Somewhere else it is reported that the problem started after a firmware update.

Yes Jan, you are right. As you and I mentioned earlier a trip to Garmin would be the best
