Hi all,

I have installed a feature called "Post Number in ViewTopic". What it does is add a post number to a post and adds a URL link to the post number that can be copied and pasted in another post that will link to the post directly.

I take it the number is not unique, but the reference within is?

That is correct. The post number is not unique and the URL link is specific to the post.

Ok, so if not unique, then there is no difference between right-click on the number or heading and copy the url to paste it somewhere else. Then it basically helps to refer to the post number within a thread, without quoting somebody? (see post #xx in this thread)

Hi all,

With a bit of tweaking and motivation from forum members, the "Post Number in View Topic" has been tweaked to look up the relevant unique post ID in the database and display that number. Now all the post numbers will be unique and also link to the relevant post. Hope this helps.

Hi Frans,

Ek het die developer van die mod die inligting gegee, om dit in die volgende update in te skryf. Ek wag net om te hoor wat dink hy, maar ek twyfel hy sal dit afkeur as hy sien wat dit doen. Ek het ook 'n link na ons forum gegee, sodat hy kan sien hoe die edit op sy mod werk. Hou duim vas.
