Using trip vs route planner on the New LMT Series GPS

Trip Planner does not make one long route from Beggining to End, It splits the Route into a number of Trips and it will navigate each Trip individually.

Hi Dasil: As i said before. You can edit Tripplanner and make it one Route by removing all the waypoints between die beginning and end point. Now youv'e
got one route. It will take you only 5 min. I am doing this with my 3790 and 2595 for the last year without any problems.

Here's a neat trick I picked up.
In folder .system there is a subfolder called Trips
If you backup this folder to Computer after Hard Reset you can restore to the Nuvi and the trips will be back.

Hi Joe:
I tried so many times to explain how i create a "Route" out of a "Trip".
I know it is not the best way to do it but it works for me now more than a year
on my 3790 and 2595. Prove me wrong, so many did try.

"Tripplanner" dit kan jy gebruik as jy brood wil aflewer nie vir "Routing" nie.

Its only the beginning and endpoint waypoints you need, you don't need the way-
points inbetween. (I call them "GUIDE POINTS") So if you don't need them,
REMOVE them!!!!!! Keep only the two Waypoints.

Busy with a small utillity program to remove the points inbetween. I am doing
it currently manually and find it not so difficult.

Send me any Trip file and i will make it a Route. Please it is weekend, so don't
send me a 1000 waypoints, please.

# Inrypad.gpx (Save as a .gpx to edit in Wordpad)
# Inrypad 2.gpx (After editing and save your new Route)

Here's a neat trick I picked up.
In folder .system there is a subfolder called Trips
If you backup this folder to Computer after Hard Reset you can restore to the Nuvi and the trips will be back.

Hi Johan,
I tried it and it works.
I made a route with 2 extra Waypoints and then used Notepad++ to remove the blocks of text as you said.
Saved it as temp.gpx , copied it into the nuvi and trip planner picked it up ok.
Simulated ok as well.

Hi Joe: I am glad to here.
Afterall it doesn't take so long to remove that Waypoints and load that .gpx file. Every Waypoint takes
12 lines to delete. The more Waypoints (Guide Points), the longer it will take. You don't have to be a
programmer or develloper to do this easy alterations. "Practice makes perfect" A Route from Potchefstroom to
Constantia will take me more or less 5 minutes.

Then the last thing: Garmin doesn't lie when they say all their top new gps units can create 100 Routes!!!!!!!!!!!?

Just want to get the software that will make it much more easy to remove all the points accept the first
and last one.
