I have re-enabled tracks4africa as it did not solve my rebooting which is quite a pita - reminds me of my 1410 where the only way to solve all the issues was to give it away - the 3790 was, apart from the "screen misbehaviour" a charm to use.

With the 1410 I used to leave work find that Blue Tooth (Phone and/or ecoRoute) and screenshot is not enabled and then park either around the corner at home or in a visitors bay at work getting all the stuff to work before I drive off....... This 3590 is back to those days!

Now somebody will tell me to take it in to GDS (or whatever) down in Muizenberg but they were less than useless with the 1410 - I really don't feel like going that route again - even got banned off the forum at that time hence the name I am logged in with now:) Made a deal with shorty to watch my comments if he allows me on with this non de plume! :)

Where is Shorty these days!

QUESTION: Is there a Manual for this model 3590LT specifically? I downloaded a general one but it has a lot of stuff not applicable.

And my ecoRoute red/orange/green+score icon is not on the screen anymore???

Last week I had a grey screen 50% of the way home - voice instruction was all there but no map/purple line nor silver OPC Corsa!

Possibly I must delete that vehicle that is the only thing I added that did not come with the unit.

Then MyGarmin Firmware updates were off for a few days and this morning it does not really say much more - neither You are (or are not) Up to date??

Never a dull moment.

At least I can answer 1 of your questions Erich. Shorty is around he answers to the name John over here. He is also involved with the Tomtom forum and I see they keep him quite busy over there. I have a 35xx owners manual which I mailed to you. Most likely the same that you have. Have a look and see  On paper it seem to be quite a nice unit one that were on my wish list.

To Update Firmware you need to use Webupdater. (Latest Firmware is 7.2)
I don't think these models work with the My Dashboard thingie.
I'm sorry that you are having all these issues, I'm still ok with the 3490

On the +ve
To get Ecoroute Map button on screen. (Ecoroute must be enabled already)
Settings, Map & Vehicle, Map Buttons, (If you have 3 Active, you have to delete one)
+ on an inactive button, Scroll to ecoroute, Select, Save.

Thanks Jan, Dasilvarsa!

Thnaks about the Shortie news - nice chap! And Metro Nomad?

Saves me reading the manual for that one!

The one button is a "Mute" button which, although nice, can make space for my preference!

I tried Latest Webupdater but they say I am up to date!

It will probably work itself out of the system in due course - the 4 you have is a better buy than the 5 imho!

Something that I have picked up somewhere is that the bluetooth connection to some smart phones can cause the unit to freeze and reboot. This is specifically applicable where pictures are used to identify the caller.

Thanks Jan,

I have looked at that but there is no correlation between connection and communication of the cell and the reboots.

Last night and this morning the unit behaved itself perfectly of course!!
