Nuvi 2200 Ups and Downs

Hi all,

First bit of feedback regarding the above model. In the same league as the Nuvi 200, a compact device with a small screen, Trip Planner and Eco Route (nifty for the fuel conscience). Firstly, you still cannot transfer a route created on BaseCamp or MapSource to the device. You may however transfer the waypoints and create a trip using the waypoints transferred to the unit (using the built-in Trip Planner that allows you to set a date, a departure or arrival time and it works out when you must depart or when will you arrive). Secondly, Eco Route has one little glitch and that is the fuel price. This is the only input requiring constant updating manually when filling up at the pumps. Once the rest of the data is keyed in, costing and consumption are worked out automatically based on speed and distance travelled. One serious PLUS factor of Eco Route, no matter which vehicle parameters are entered on the device, fuel saving occurs mainly between 80km/h and 100km/h. Anything below or above those speeds starts showing up as yellow or red (indicating fuel wastage). Otherwise a good little device for on the road, for when you need to get to that appointment in Durban and you're in Sandton.
