Re: www.gps-users-forum.co.za - Wishlist
Hi all,
By the way, when you login, have you noticed the title and image under you forum name? I managed to get it working, but need help with some more ranks and number of posts to get to the next rank. I will get more details together wrt the number of ranks, etc. Some guidelines and rank titles would be welcome.
Darryl
P.S. I had a look at the ranks that we have available:-
New User has 0 - 3 posts
Registered User has 3 - ? posts
Rank 0 has ? - ? posts (0 out of 6 stars)
Rank 1 has ? - ? posts (0.5 out of stars)
.
.
.
.
Rank 12 has ? -? posts (6 out of 6 stars)
We thus have 14 ranks in total excluding admin/mod ranks that are there for those who want the challenge.

I do not have a preference in terms of ranks or starts or whatever. The reason being that some people do see the number of posts as important to get to a next rank, while, in the mean time, they just posted a lot of worthless cr@p. My preference is to leave the ranking, number of posts are displayd in any case. The people in the portfolio of management and control is clearly visible - more than enough.

Hi MN,
Thanks for the new smilies. I have been working on getting them included into the forum (some good and some GOOD!). If there are any specific ones that the people want that may not be on here, mail them to me and the emotion you want attached to it.

Just another suggestion!
Any chance of having a "Like" button for posts?

If really necessary can we say something like "Thumbs up" or "Thumbs down". Please not "Like" (whatever that means)...

I've taken the liberty to change the title of the topic in line with the new forum name as opposed to Garmapforum.zapto.org - Wishlist.

Wishlist - Like Thumbs Up/Down
On another forum (Noeman) there is a like button, so if you agree with some-ones posing you just click the like button!cliddell wrote:If really necessary can we say something like "Thumbs up" or "Thumbs down". Please not "Like" (whatever that means)...
Much easier, quicker and neater then a whole new post for the thumbs up or down. But the "Like" Button could just as easily be Thumbs up or down, just somantics at the end of the day.
Just by the way, on the noeman forum no "Thank-you" postings are allowed, which in a way makes sense, as it just adds cluter to the gist of any conversation, and the thumbs up/down or like button can serve a similar function without clutter!
Either way, it is not the be all and end all, but thought could have been a "nice to have" feature!
