Now from Day 1 the Nuvi was problematic - some days it would function just fine, and other days it would reboot in the middle of navigating somewhere and if you were approaching an intersection things could get very interesting. Garmin SA replaced the Nuvi, to no avail. This problem persisted since we got the Nuvi, but at least it was able (when NOT rebooting) to take us to places that we wanted to go - like a particular place in the parking lot of a specific shopping centre. The downside was that in a trip from Germiston through to Kya Sands the Nuvi could (and often did) reboot itself 6 or more times. I got into the habit of zooming out the display to check for any major deviations coming up in case the unit rebooted.
Of course, with yours truly being the Garmin proponent, this unit has brought me more than my fair share of nasty remarks from my loved ones
But last week I connected the Nuvi up to the internet and kicked off Webupdater. And lo and behold, ever since then I haven't had a single unintentional reboot!
I just hope this keeps up.
Anybody else had this experience? Anybody else find the firmware update fixed it? Has it stayed fixed?
