Hi All,

I found the GarMap maps to be much more detailed and accurate than the Garmin City Navigator maps. I have 2014.2 and it's lacking far behind 2013.1 from GarMap. Not only with roads, but also with POI's. Anyone know if Garmin is going to get more accurate maps and more SA POI's?

Failing that, is there a way I can load the GarMap maps on my 3597LMT? Will I screw up some of the functionality if I load the GarMap maps?

According to Garmin International you can use Garmap with your device.

You lose Junction View, Lane Assist and Speed limits !

Gerhard welcome to the forum. The Garmap maps are compatible with the new PND's. In the old Garmap forum there was a long discussion regarding the installation on duel maps. What you will lose is junction view lane assist and the display of the speed limits. Although I have seen a Map comparison of Garmin/Garmap maps Garmap Street maps are listed as being able to display speed limits on some highways. Maybe someone can confirm Here is a downloadable file that list what the various map sets can do.

Hi All,

Thanks for the prompt feedback. I'll install the GarMap maps and let you know it it's all working. If it does, I'll keep both maps installed and just use the Garmin maps when I have to navigate the concrete jungle.

You may even try using both maps active at the same time. Remembering some of the discussions on the Garmap forum it worked for some of the guys with a minimal lost of some of the mjor features of the CN maps. You can experiment and see what work best in your situation. Please keep us posted.
