Hi Nick,

With regards to downloading the .GMA file, I won't be able to help there. I am sure that if you do contact the guys at Garmin (contact info here), they should be able to help you. Regarding the 2010.3 DVD, I can make a copy of that for you and have it mailed or couriered with Speed Post.

If the Topo maps are on the device, then the .gma file should be available on the unit to use in Mapsource to unlock.( gmapprom.gma)
What unit have you got?

I tried to download a screenshot earlier but the system froze. Yes It will be on the GPSr as Frans pointed out. When the GMA file was first introduced I tried unlocking manually but that was very problematic. I shied away from that since then and left the system do that. I downloaded the GMA file of my Nuvi 200 a few minutes ago without problems. When you have signed onto the Garmap Website click on "My Details and a list of your registered products will appear. Click on the small white arrow and the RHS pointing to the right of the product you want the GMA file of and it will expand to show the download option.
Please feel free to make use of Darryl's offer you will get it much sooner.

I will post a screen shot of the website screen at a later stage if required

Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the support. Like I said I did go into "my details", pulled up the list of registered units, made a note of the map version and codes and clicked the GMA download. That is where it won't open the GMA website and just says "page can't be displayed".
I have a GPSmap 60CSx, but the current map on it is the one I downloaded last week = 2013, which won't go over to my PC. Maybe I will have to contact Garmin direct? Nick T.

When you click on the Download in the GMA file column it should download the file directly to your PC. You can Phone 0112519800 (technical support) at Garmin for help. I have send you an email with my and Darryl's email addresses.

Just for the record. All Garmap maps prior to 2011 only require the 25 digit unlock code. The grey cells only started working when I realised we are talking about the 2010 version of Garmap Top & Rec here.
Garmin confirmed that you can only download to your computer during an upgrade those maps that were preloaded on your GPSr. Other maps including TOPO pro can only be viewed on the PC through Basecamp while the GPSr is connected to the PC

Hi Frans,

A wee bit OT here, I have managed to whitelist the relevant blocks of IP addresses that is mostly in use by forum members (i.e. Telkom, Cell C, MTN, Vodacom and possibly any other service provider). If I have missed out one, please mail me and I will add it.
