POI's comment appears twice on SD card

#2705

Post by Phillip Coetser »

Hi guys, Phillip again. I need help with my Poi's, please. In mapsource, I plot a poi, in waypoint properties, add a comment and photo to the waypoint, then save this in separate file named attractions, on desktop. In mapsource again, I open up this waypoint and it is displayed. Now, when I send this to my sd card, using Poi Loader, everything is well when I start up the Gps, except when I open up the waypoint under extras on the Nuvi menu, the waypoint will show up, but when I touch the waypoint name, the photo comes up and the comment is there, twice???????? Anybody had the same experience, and know why this happens? Going back to mapsource, and open up the waypoint properties for this, the comment field has only got one comment. See attached png.images.

Ja dit is ongelukkig so.
Basecamp gebruik die Comment ook as 'n Description, sowel as 'n Name field.

Not answering your query but something that you may also try fiddling around with here is something written a long time ago for the Nuvi 200 but it is still relevant for the current models. It is instrutions of how to add voice comments and pictures for interesting Poi.

Groete.

I stand to be corrected, but I think I still authored these two documents when I was still resident in either PMB or Howick. I think I still posted these on the old Garmap forum (when it still existed). I had never in my wildest dreams think that they would surface again here. But thanks Jan for having the savvy to keep them for later use.
