BaseCamp Version 4.3.3 (Win7 & Win8)

HMM..MM..M Yeah, Right! Fixed this and fixed that..... and left a few issues too!
I'm in the process of re-organising and Categorising WP's and data I've accumulated over years...
Because BaseCamp is a "Data Base driven" rather than a "Document Based" app, I've never actually fallen in love with BaseCamp as such and have always preferred to work on Mapsource, although certain functions and processes have gone array with the Garmin transition to BaseCamp. Unfortunately, some functions and transfers to and from the later models, such as the Nüvi 3590 and 3790 can only be done through BC.
OK! - This morning, I was completing a crispy fresh "Key Waypoints" list, ready to be sent to the units, when I noticed that Basecamp wanted to update. So, let it be done then!
When I tried to activate BC, it gave me some foul language:
26

and then

27

After many agonising and frustrated minutes and officially booking my honorary place in a very HOT after life, I uninstalled BC with an app called "Revo Uninstaller" on Moderate setting and re-installed 4.2.2, which worked perfectly until I did the update again....! :???:

Eventually, after equally agonising minutes, and many, many reboots, I repeated the process one more time, re-installed 4.3.3 afresh.... then it worked
GARMIN: GPSMap: III; V; 10x; eTrex: ETrex; Legend C (ex Metro Nomad); Vista Cx; 30; Nüvi:3590LMT (X2) 3790 Samsung: Pocket [e]; S4; Note 8" on Wisepilot and I'm lost!

The Only good thing about being imperfect, is the joy it brings to others!

The same here Schalk.
There is a saying " The resistance to change", but hell, I do what I want to do with Mapsource and my 200, 3490 and 3790 without the hassle of updating Basecamp (un-successful) weekly.
The little I work with Basecamp, I don't even know that there is another couple of bugs to be fixed again.

The only thing I find "nice" on Base camp is the printing options! If I need to print I good map, I use Base camp, the rest I use Map source.

As one of my previous bosses often says, "Humans are inherently resistant to change"!

BaseCamp Version 4.3.3 (Win7 & Win8)

Hmm..mm.m and I forgot to tell another piece of the tale!
During those frantic moments, some alien file 'garminexpressimport.gpx' found it's place inside the 'gpx' directory of one of the 3590 units, which caused a total loss of community.... even when the BC part was resolved! The one 3590 communicated perfectly and accepted anything I threw at it.... the other crashed BC everytime I connected the device to the PC.
For interest sake: I believe that the file is the result of denying Garmin access to the Meta data of devices and Software. I do this purely for selfish reasons, because I discovered that if and when you grant them access to a unit, communication between that unit and Mapsource is permanently de-activated! Something I don't want and I have been unable to resolve!
Eventually (after elaborately explaining to the local Rooikop, how nice the expensive drinks coaster, I just made, looked on her coffee table)....I compared all files between two 3590 devices and removed the one 'odd' file, which resolved the problem at lo..o..o..ng last!
If anyone finds the same file, simply remove it from the device, it's corrupt and has no place in our community!

OK, now we get to an answer and solution I was rather desperately looking for, yesterday! Well, it shows, sometimes you simply have to learn the hard way!
One member there makes the remark: 'The file will not be there if it wasn't needed' Eisch! Makes me think a bit! I did save the file somewhere on the PC (I can honestly not remember where....), but never even gave it another thought! I discovered the file in one recent 'Backup' file of the unit, now. Nothing to contradict my assumption on how it was created yet!

It seem that the problem lies with Garmin Express which is very problematic. Fixing one problem creates endless other problems. Just imagine creating one program catering for all the Garmin map products and devices used World wide. I have it fist hand that they have been working on solving the issues that were highlighted during the last map update but have not had an update on the progress for some time.
