MapInstall says no maps installed on Nuvi1410

Evening chaps, first time using the new forum site and here's my first issue...

Installed Topo & Rec (2012.1) a few months back on my wife's 1410, no problems, mapset installed and still working fine. now i want to update to the version 2012.2, guess what, now mapinstall tells me there are no mapsets installed on the 1410...

Anyone have this happen before? First time this happened to me...

Any ideas would be most appreciated....

I've moved your topic from BaseCamp/MapSource to Garmap Maps (Registration & Installation).
You will find this forum structure basically the same as the structure that you were used to on the other side.

Hi Mav,

This problem sounds to me you are missing the registration file that is required to be present on the unit and also in the map folder on your PC. I recall something to that effect with the new registration process on Garmap. Hope this helps.

Hi Darryl, are you talking about the .gma file. Cause i've checked and this file is on the gps unit and listed on the pc... strange one mate...

Yes, that's the one I was talking about. Could the .gma file not perhaps be sitting in the wrong folder on the GPSr? Or the maps? Hope this helps.

You say Map install say no maps installed. It look like something went wrong during the install process. Try running the program again make sure you select all the tiles you want to load.

Can You see the Map on the PC "In Mapsource or Basecamp" ?

HI Dasilvarsa, maps i can see in basecamp and mapsource, i think Jan may correct, when i installed the 2012.1 onto the 1410, something may have gone wrong somewhere during the install, but at the time i received no errors during the install. I'll try and play around a bit tonight with the 1410...see what else i can try.

If you can see it in Mapsource You should be able to just select all the maps in Mapsource and Download them to your unit.
Using Mapsource is still the best method.
