Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Install
Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Install
Garmap SA Topo 2012.2NT Maps are install on the fixed memory.
T4A 14.05.01 is installed on the removable memory, as there is not enough space on the fixed memory.
On startup, you are prompted with "New Extras data found on card. Would you like to install this data so that it will be available if the card is removed?"
You are to select "No/Yes".
I always select "No", as there is not enough space on the fixed memory.
Is there a parameter I can change, possibly in an XML file which will by default select "No"?

I may be wrong, but even if you select "No", the data is still taken into internal memory for usage by the device.

Thanks Frans,
I am not too concerned as to where it is loaded, as long as I do not have to respond to the prompt everytime I switch it on.

I assume you are installing the RHD with PoiLoader directly to your devive and not to the SD card.
So that can only be your favourites that are on your card. Rather select "Yes" then and the data will be saved on the device. Then it should not ask you again.
Make a backup of your data first if you plan to delete the favourites on the card.

Re: Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Instal
There is not enough space on the device to host both the Topo and T4A map sets. Hence T4A is on the SD card.

Re: Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Instal
Agree, but there is a bit of misunderstanding here.
T4A stays on the SD card and Topo on the device.
The "Extras found" are favourites that you created or loaded to the SD card, that alone must be installed to the device. NOT T4A.
I.o.w. - If there are no waypoints on the SD card, (.gpx) it won't ask you the question.

Thanks Frans.
Are the extras the Waypoints which I download from MapSource to the SD card? That might be the case.
Allow me to take a look.

Re: Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Instal
I stand to be corrected, but I downloaded WayPoints to the GPS (the SD Card) via MapSource, and this is what I believe is prompting for installation to the fixed memory, everytime I start up.
The WayPoints were removed from the SD card by selecting it on the POI Loader, and the prompts then ceased.

Re: Parameter/Config to Avoid Having to Choose Not to Instal
Hi Shaun, unfortunately not completely correct.
Like I said in a post above, only waypoints transferred (.gpx or .gpi) to the SD card, will prompt for installation to the device (new extras found)Not Map data.
PoiLoader will only remove .gpi files, and then only if that file is in the Poi directory. Some units (like the 3790) got a Poi sub-directory under "Garmin", which is invisible to PoiLoader.
So if you create an .gpi file with PoiLoader, but to Computer, and then copy this file to x:\Garmin\Poi\..., PoiLoader can't delete it.
