Mobile cam's not showing on Gps

#3460

Post by Phillip Coetser »

Hi Guys, Phillip again. With the latest download of Rhd data, installed to my gps, I tried to manually locate the new mobile cams on my gps, at Meyerton, which I couldn't do. I then noticed, again, that the Rhd data was loaded twice on my Gps????????????, using Poi Loader, I cleared all previously poi's, loaded/clearing the new data a couple of times, but to no avail. I couldn't understand it. On my pc, the mobile cams opened. I noticed in the past, that data was loaded twice, on my gps, but it didn't concern me. Then I spoke to Jan Horn, (thanks again Jan, for steering me in the right direction), about this ~ no duplicate files exists in the folder on my pc were I save/load the new Rhd data from. I then went through my Nuvi's internal drive, folder by folder, and found this file, dated Aug.2013, poi.gpi 540KB, and copied it to my pc's desktop, opened this folder on line with Gps Visualizer, saved it as a .gpx file, and opened it up in Mapsource. This file is a conglomerate of poi's of Rhd data, clashing, I assume, against each other, hence I couldn't manually open the new Rhd data. This file was then deleted, and all's well. Some way or the other, this file got installed: how, I don't know.

Phillip, that excel file is the old data that were available for download from the discontinued Garmap Forum in gpi format.

Hi Frans, I read what you say, but I still do not know how this poi.gpi file got onto my gps. Anyway, I'm happy that all is well now. PS. I opened the .gpi.file in a word document, to show the contents of this file ~ are you interested in this poi.gpi file, still have it on my desktop.
