Garmin Express Updates

Thanks Eddie. I may miss something but it seem that it only allows you to exercise the option to install the maps on your computer when you do the update, You cannot go back and do it later as with the previous version.
See my screen shots See the difference between my 52which has been updates and that of my son in law's that still need to be updated.

That's correct uncle Jan.
And don't think you can just delete or remove City Navigator Southern Africa NT 2015.40 from the PC and express will allow you to install to computer.Nada.
It's in the registry.

If it's the way that Garmin Express will work from now on, we will have to find a workaround or keep to a version below 4.0.0.0

Version 4.0.8.0 is now available for download. Somewhere else someone expressed the view the that Garmin is using the rapid release of Garmin express as a test bed to sort out bugs before the release of the next map set.

Hi all
I currently have Express v4.0.6.0 installed. When I check for updates to Express, it starts downloading an update but before it even gets half way, it stops and flashes "Update Failed".
I get the same results on a desktop (Win 7) and laptop (Win 8.1).
It does look as if Garmin are once again using the unsuspecting public to field test new unproven software.

I updated this morning from 40.0.7.0 to 4.0.8.0 with any problem. I have picked up form other web sites that some do experience the same problem as you Phil. In some cases they updated successfully when they tried again later.

I still couldn't update directly in GE but managed to update to v4.0.8.0 using the GE Installer :-

Hi guys, Phillip ~ Garmin Express worked yesterday, but today ????????????????????????? Uninstalled express, re-installed express using the link, no luck.
