Garmin GPSmap 62s Communication error

Hi All,

I have a GPSmap 62s and it has lately been throughing a communicating error when I connect it to Basecamp. Everything still seems to work despite the error. Im not sure how to attach a screenshot of the error.

Any ideas on how to fix this error?

Riaan Welcome to the forum You would be able to add a screenshot after your next post. We had to put a restriction on newly registered users to prevent spammers registering and then start posting unwanted ....... on the forum. A screenshot would help in assisting you.

From the screen shots it look like a corrupted waypoint that is causing the error. In that case a master reset may clear the problem. You may lose all the waypoints though. You may also first try to download the way points to your computer and see if you can find the problem point that way and delete it before reloading. How up to date is your firmware on the unit. Use web updater instead of Garmin express to check for updates.

99% corrupt waypoint.
Use Notepad++ to edit the gpx file.
There should only be 1 empty line between a waypoint and the next one.
With that kind of error, you will find somewhere is sommer about 20 empty lines between 2 waypoint data.
