Hi to all the GPS Forum members. Through becoming a member I hope I can start to appreciate my Garmin Nuvi 710 again. I was starting to give up on it after countless hours of struggling to update Hazards etc. I really enjoy the unit and I would loathe to get red of it. I travel extensively and hope that I can also make a positive contribution to the forum.

Welkom Jackie. I am sure you would be able to contribute some valuable information judging form your love of the Nuvi 710. The hazard data can be found at the bottom of the index page. You have 3 options. downloading the raw data and doing your own setup to your preference or the choice of two preset data options. With or without voice warnings.

Hi Jan. Thank you for your word of welcome. Unfortunately I can not go into the HRD downloads as it shows that it is locked. I guess the 3 posts rules apply to me. I will think of something to submit three posts. Once again thank you.

Hi Jacques You should be able to access and download the data because the 3 post rule does not apply to them.

May I suggest that you also download the guide to setup the data at rhd-beginners-guide-for-windows-and-apple-mac-users/

Let me try to guide you through the down loads

Click on "RHD Downloads second from the bottom.

On the menu click on "Road Hazard downloads for Garmin". It should take you to a second menu where you can choose the data you want to download, normally a road hazard data zip file, gps sounds.zip and toll sounds.zip

For downloading the pre setup gpi directly to your device it need to be connected to the PC and you need to have "Garmin Communicator" installed on the PC. It only work with IE and FireFox. For Widows 10 edge you need to switch to "open with Ie for it the work. The gpi file download and install directly to the device but depending the speed of your internet connection you may be patient because it may take a few minutes. The gpi file with sounds is 40mb. The gpi without sound is very small and only take a few seconds to download.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
