No new automotive units from Garmin

#4715

Post by Phillip Coetser »

Hi guys, Phillip. More than halfway through 2018 and still no word about any new automotive units from Garmin. Garmin has already discontinued their premier DriveLuxe 51 LMT-S with no replacement model.I think the Garmin road navigation party is about over. I wonder what will happen to Garmin pnd users with regards to Lifetime Map Updates. Garmin could easily abandon the consumer GPS market if they saw diminishing sales. I suppose we will have to wait and see. Attached a link (http://www.gpscentral.ca/discontinuedproducts.htm) to view all DISCONTINUED GPS RECEIVERS.....

Regards
Personal Navigation Devices: - Garmin Drive Smart 65, Nüvi3597 LMT

Yes the move to Fitness and ports has been quite noticeable over last couple of years but then most of those units are also heavy dependent on road maps. That maybe could be our savvier.
There are also a few automotive company's using Garmin head units for their onboard satnav

Have a look at this https://auto-oem.garmin.com/landing/
