Hi Kyle The last update for Garmap SSA Streetmaps were released in 2013. (SSA 2013.2) before they discontinued the Garmap range. We can mail you a copy of the DVD you but the problem would be to get unlock codes for the map set for your Nuvi 1410 since the Garmap website was closed down . If you can overcome that problem let us know and I can arrange to make a copy. A word of warning I know there are some key gen programs available to generate unlock codes but at leased one those is seriously infected with malware and it caused serious damage to the computer of someone that downloaded and installed it.
A good alternative would be Tracks for Africa. My brother in law travels a lot beyond our borders and he tells me that their coverage of the African continent is extensive. For more info visit their website at

Re: Garmin Nuvi 1410 - Garmap Sub Saharan Africa Maps Requir
Following on on this subject, my Nuvi 1410 has simply lost its mapset, which was previously loaded internally. The mapset I formally used was the SA Topo 2012.3 version and was an official purchase, unlocked. This has simply disappeared, no longer even installed as an image file in the GPS. Could an update have done this? The only mapset now loaded on the Nuvi is an old version of T4A which does not feature street views. Any hope for rectifying this as Garmin no longer has the online registration website where I could have simply unlocked the mapset once again.

Hi Eric.....do you have a complete backup of your unit on your pc? Do you still have the unlock gma file for the map set that you purchased at the the old Garmap site? Hopefully you should have these, otherwise you will have a problem. A CN SA 2020.1 map set can be bought from Garmin, via Garmin Express, or at Outdoor Warehouse, on sd card, but be prepared to lay out a lot of money.Tracks4Africa also sells a sd card with pre-installed maps (https://shop.tracks4africa.co.za/produc ... maps-maps/), but this is mainly for off road use. But all is not lost, if you intend keeping your unit, you can download tile sets, that suits your requirements from Open Street Maps..(https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=6/-28.676/24.677) Hope this helps.

Hi Phillip,
Excellent advice, thank you! I should have Mapsource on my Office PC, it was also on my home PC but that has been replaced twice due to lightning paying me an unwelcome visit at most inappropriate times. I will search for the unlock gma file as well, hopefully I did save it at the time.
I need to go check my other Garmins and see whether they are still operating with their mapsets, 276C, Nuvi500 and Montana.
Regards,
Eric

The gma files were saved automatically when you unlocked the maps from the old garmap site. If the map set and Mapsource are still on your work computer all you need to do is load the tiles or the full map set and the gma files to unlock the maps will be loaded at the same time.
Nice talking to you again. The program we talked about is called JaVaWa GMTK. A very handy program to have you should try it.

Hi Jan,
It was good chatting about the "good old times" once again. Bit difficult from my side though, as I was in the local Hyper and dealing with their PA systems as well as several staff members who certainly had no need of a PA system when communicating with one another :)
Will check whether I still have those gma files handy, I normally save this type of thing just not sure that I even had the same computer at work back then.
Pleasant day everyone!

Just to follow up on this, I have installed Open Source Mapping on the Nuvi, using Mapsource. It works, but looks kind of bleak compared to the original Topo map that I used to have. I was unable to trace any unlock file for the Nuvi, but did find one for my ancient Garmin 3 GPS that I had eons ago!

Re: Garmin Nuvi 1410 - Garmap Sub Saharan Africa Maps Requir
Hi Eric, thank you for the feedback. I don't have access to a Nuvi 1410, so I won't know if this is applicable to your unit, but some Nuvi's have in the settings, a feature, where you can change the map themes; go to Settings, Map Theme, and from there you could make your selection. By using this setting, you will spice up the map colour. OSM maps, unfortunately, do not support the traffic option, as well as Junction View, which you had with Garmin maps. The other option, as I mentioned earlier, is to buy a SD card, from T4A, which is very similar to Garmin Maps, but before you go for that option, maybe
think, of buying another unit with a lifetime map update subscription.
Regards.

Hi Phillip,
The Nuvi 1410 does have this feature, I had enabled it to include everything possible, but the current map set does not really have that much going for it.
Not a problem, although I still wonder what happened to my original maps I should still have Topo on my other GPS units - (haven't checked these yet though).
Regards,
Eric
