I agree with Derick. I have used T4A maps for a number of years now and found them excellent in more remote areas with extensive coverage in remote areas such as in Zambia, Mozambique and Botswana. They are not designed for city navigation

I have had no problems using them on Mapsource and the various Garmins I have owned and have found them reasonably inexpensive as you only need to purchase the region you intend visiting.

I have always used "Garmap to get me there and T4A when I get there"

I think that just about sums up the best use for T4A that I've ever heard.

The server went down yesterday morning. Darryl worked about 30 hours to get everything going again. Unfortunately all posts after about 07:50 yesterday, the time of the last backup, was lost. So please Gerald do your post again

T4A is IMO the best off-road Garmin Data set of Africa out there and being a active data contributor for the past 10 years I have had the privilege to get to know these bunch of very dedicated and always ready to listen and help guys down there in the Cape really well. Most of the T4A users that posted here understand what T4A is about. It is not a city navigator map, but once you get out there in the bush this information on this map is something I simply do not go without anymore. The best about it is it is active and alive with constant tweaking and adding of new data all the time like any good map-making group should be about. So I do recommend this map-set to anyone that likes the out=door thing. There is simply nothing better available for Africa if used correctly.
