South Africa’s strict new driving laws coming in June....(https://businesstech.co.za/news/governm ... g-in-june/)

Transport minister Fikile Mbalula says that the new Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (Aarto) Act will go live in June 2020, along with a new zero-tolerance approach to drunk driving.
For normal drivers, the concentration of alcohol in any blood specimen must be less than 0.05 gram per 100 millilitres, and in the case of a professional driver, less than 0.02 gram per 100 millilitres.
However, Mbalula said that, come June, this will be no more.
“We are going to be intolerant to drinking and driving. We’re going beyond saying there’s some percentage – it must be zero percent. It’s going to be zero. No alcohol in the blood – and the law is going to bite with regard to that,”

Not sure how they will enforce this if they can't even enforce the current rules.

Every day I see taxis skipping robots, stop streets, making illegal u-turns etc.
Due to these drivers getting away with it I see many other drivers doing the same lately - it seems to be getting worse!

The new trend here in Pretoria is that forced left turn lanes have become 'I can skip the robot lanes'.
It has happened to me twice this week: while I am waiting in line at a robot in the right-hand lane a driver skips the whole line by racing past us in the forced left-turn lane.
He then skips the red robot and swerves back into the road without any regard to anybody's safety. It is not just taxis now - these were bakkies on both occasions.

The cops are of course nowhere to be seen when this happens...
