Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
Hello
Is City Navigator South Africa 2024.10 the same as City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10 ?
We are going to Namibia and I want to make sure this map set covers our journey.
Also, any idea where I can purchase a Powered Suction Cup Mount with Speaker for a NUVI3590LT
I think it is PART NUMBER010-11785-00
Many thanks
Cheers
Gareth

Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
Hi Gareth,
There is currently only one map set for SA, namely CITY NAVIGATOR FOR SOUTHERN AFRICA 2024.10, or in short CNSA 2024.10, and yes, this map set does cover Namibia, depending from where you enter the Namibian borders, ie.the main route from Gaborone A2,where it crosses the SA and Namibian border, becoming the B6, or from Upington, N10 where the main route into Namibia becomes the B3.
With reference to the Part Number 010-11785-00, you could try any branch of Navworld, or perhaps Outdoor Warehouse.
PS. You could also install the Waze app. on your smartphone which will render much more detail than CNSA 2024.10
Hopes this helps.
Regards

Thanks very much Phillip.
I have Waze but wanted to use this old Garmin as a backup in case there is no mobile signal - or will Waze work without a network connection?
Cheers

Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
Hi Gareth, unfortunately not, Waze needs mobile data or wifi to connect to their server.
BTW, Just remember, your SA sim card, regardless of the provider (vodacom, cellC, MTN) you'll have to activate roaming to use it in Nam or Bot, regardless of the phone UNLESS the phone you have is locked for a specific service provider. Roaming is expensive.
Regards.

Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
I notice that Garmin Express refer to the map-sett as City Navigator South Africa but the true name is City Navigator Southern Africa. So the answer your question yes it is the same map.garethpj wrote: ↑2023-08-13T13:18:12+02:00 Hello

Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
Hello
Is there any way to download and view where I have been from a Garmin nuvi 3590.
There were places that we went to in Namibia that we would like to put on a map.
We have Tracks4Africa installed.
Many thanks
Cheers

Re: City Navigator Southern Africa 2024.10
Hi Gareth. On your unit, you should be able to view your trip log, when your unit is connected to a pc/laptop.
To View the Trip Log:
*Open MapSource software on the computer and at the top there is a block with Maps, by default, the latest map set ie. City Navigator Southern Africa
2024.2 will show up, provided that you've downloaded this map set to your pc via Garmin Express.
*Connect the device to the computer
*Once opened in MapSource, at the top left hand side of the taskbar, click on Transfer, and a new option will open, under Find device
Send to Device, click on said and a new block window will open with a couple of options, ie. Maps, Waypoints, Routes and
Tracks. Tick on the Routes block, and wait until data is imported from your device to MapSource.
*On the left hand side of the map section, there is colum, ie. Maps, Waypoints, Routes, and Tracks and under the routes section, you should see where you travelled, click on said and the trip log will open in MapSource.
Hopes this helps.
