Derogatory Comments and Remarks

This forum was created to provide a meeting place with a friendly atmosphere where members with similar interests can exchange information on a variety of subjects.
People from across all walks of life use this forum - often only as visiting guests, but mostly as members - for advice offered in good will.

We don't want to spoil the spirit of goodwill, or create perceptions that we're biased, prejudiced or bigoted. Perceptions are quickly and easily accumulated and consolidated and could scare off future members, or even alienate existing members.
The Around The Camp Fire forum was created for a free and frank exchange of off-topic views on current issues, but that does not give us Carte Blanche to use the space to make derogatory personal comments towards members, politicians, dealers or any private person.

One can so easily fall into the trap of Dealer Bashing, for instance.
There are legal avenues to follow if you are unhappy with a dealer and there is no point in risking legal action against the Forum and yourself by making derogatory and slanderous statements in public.

Brand Bashing should also be avoided at all costs as it could very easily lead to heated arguments which in turn will lead to undesirable and nasty statements and counter statements.

Any statement made in this topic also applies to ALL the forums and sub-forums and not only to Around The Camp Fire.

Although the Topic Heading refers to derogatory comments and remarks, it should be noted that it is equally applicable to slander (slanderous), disrespect (disrespectful), defamatory (defamation), or any of their accepted (or implied) synonyms.

When users sign up on a forum, they agree to abide by certain conditions with respect to the conduct that is to be maintained while being a member and it is therefore imperative that members familiarize themselves with the Terms of Use and the Disclaimer, which will always be near the top of the Board Index.

In court you cannot claim Ignorance of the Law as an excuse for committing a crime and therefore Ignorance of this Topic will also not be accepted as an excuse for deplorable behaviour on Forum....
