Lost Map - Nuvi 1300

Due to a system crash I have been spending many many hours re-creating everything. During this process I managed to delete my Garmap SSA Streetmaps 2013 1/12 NT map set from my Nuvi 1300. This was the final update and can no longer be downloaded. The only backup I have is the earlier Garmap SSA Streetmaps 2011.3 NT.img file.

This .img resides in the MAP folder on the Nuvi. If anyone has a copy of the last 2013 file I really would appreciate it if you could e-mail it to me. Many thanks

2013.2 Were the last update from Garmap. It were only available for download and not on DVD. Two problems, one the downloaded file size were 555gb so not possible to email and two you still need the to access the Garmap, now closed down, server to do the installation. Your best option would be if you have the gma unlock file available and you can find someone near you that still have the map on his computer to copy to your PC via a flash drive or memory stick and install it using Mapsource or basecamp.
If you had the map still on your PC prior to the crash depending on how you restored the system you may still have all the data on your PC. Look in the root drive for the folder Windows.old
The path to the data is
C:\Windows.old\Users\Jan(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps
I have when my laptop crashed restored my maps by copying the Garmin folder to the same position on the new setup.

Thanks for input Jan. Looks like I am screwed. I was hoping to get the.img file directly from the MAP folder on the Nuvi, and then paste it into my Nuvi 1300. Just have to keep the Nuvi for T4A I guess.

On useful information and links there is a link to a nice handy program to backup, copy and restore your maps after a crash provided its has been backed up. It can also be used to copy maps from your device to your PC and vice versa. It is good practice to keeps a backed up copy of these old maps to help out after a crash. If you still have the unlock codes(.gma file) for the maps for the 1300 I will be able to help you out next time I visit my daughter in Croydon, but it may be not be within the next few months. Alternatively it may be possible to copy it to a SD card the total size of the folder is just less than 500mb. If the gma file is still on the 1300 it might be possible to restore the maps.

Thanks Jan, I'll have a did around and see. I do have a printout of the actual unlock code but guess that's useless unless you can get the original file?

Unless you deleted it, it should still be available on the 1300.
