Updates rolled out effective 1 December 2016

Post by fugglefeet »

Hi all,

In a recent email I received from CyberSmart, the forum hard disk space (among other things) has undergone an upgrade at no extra charge. The total space now available to the forum is 1GB. This will now allow us to upload files to the forum (i.e. mapsets of the older Garmap series) that can be downloaded by members who may need it to repair and/or replace their existing ones that may be corrupted/lost/eaten by the dog  etc. As we are currently using around 450MB of the HDD space for the forum software and database, this will at least allow us to load one mapset at a time. Please also remember that no forms of registration bypassing software can be hosted here due to the scrutiny that the forum has experienced in the beginning days. The list of upgraded features we now have are listed as follows:-

1.) 1GB of disk space.
2.) 10 email addresses (originally 5 email addresses).
3.) Free SSL certificate (this means we can have the https in front of the www if we want it and by implication meaning information exchanged between members browsers and the forum are encrypted for safety's sake).

Thanks to Cybersmart for the upgrades.

Darryl
