Chapman's Peak Tollgate

#4403

Post by Phillip Coetser »

Hi guys, Phillip. I've noticed that the Chapman's Peak Toll Gate is not currently on the RHD list....any particular reason for this? I've heard on the news, that the 2017 tariff is R29.00

Hi Phillip, I could not include the tarrifs for I don't have them.
There is different rates for bikes, taxis, cars, busses etc.
Also special rate for frequent users.
If you got all the rates, or know where I can find it, please let me know.

Very complex tariff structure, The R29 is for motorcycles Cars are R45 but frequent users and wildcard holders also come into play. The annual increase is effective July 2017

Hi Guys, Phillip. After reading the reply from Jan, I now see Frans's point   : sometimes listening to the media, without doing one's homework, could end up in being misinformed.

Prior to reading that notification I would have thought I could travel that road with my Caravan. I notice in the restrictions that the maximum width allowed is 2.1m. Most Caravan now are around 2.4m wide

Previously we showed the Motorcycle and car tariffs for that tollgate. I think they introduced the new tariff structure on 1 July 2016. It would be interesting to know how they implement the discount structure. Would it be foe E-tag users only, otherwise how will they determine the number of times one has used the route to determine the tariff to charge.
